Lora Trimingham has been an advocate for minority and woman owned businesses for over twenty years as a MWBE.
She served as the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee (MBEIC) chairperson for the New York New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council for over six years and sat on their corporate board of directors as well. She sat on the Council’s Board with decision makers such as;

Colgate-Palmolive Company
Pepsi
PSEG
Ernest & Young
Turner construction
JP Morgan Chase
Morgan Stanley, to name a few
She was also Executive Director of Inter-Racial Council for Business Opportunities (ICBO), one of the US Department of commerce’s business development centers. Business development was the primary focus for working with Minority & Woman owned business. Especially on the companies infrastructure, assisting seeking finances, loans and grants. The financial goal for the center was $25 Million per year based on procurement and finance. Lora was able to secure $20 Million alone, in an office of eight.
Lora sat on PSEG’s Supplier Diversity Board for three years.
Lora’s philosophy has always been “If corporations are going to make decisions on our behalf (MBES) then we have to be involved in the process so they get it right”
Lora Currently works for Empire State Development Corporation, Division of Minority & Woman Business Development. She is a certification analyst, processing applications for Minority and Woman owned companies that wish to do business with New York State. It involves intensive investigative work including site visits and ultimately (hopefully) certification.
Lora is married for over 42 years to Stephen, has Two amazing children and Three wonderful Grandchildren.
